SARA MARIA RODRIGUEZ

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Lima, Peru, Sara got her BS in Communication from the University of Lima (2007); since then, she has pursued her career in photography with over ten years of experience in the fashion an commercial industry.  She is currently based in Valencia, Spain as she is pursuing a Masters degree in visual arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

For Sara photography has become for her  a way of expressing ideas and concepts through images; in her own words, 'it viewing your voice in an image. It is creating your world through the camera and thus express your ideas regarding a theme or feeling. It is our posture visually expressed. Can we change the world with our camera, or make it better? I hope so...'

Her intuition and consciousness by using the lens of photography as a communications tool has taken her to work with different designers and fashion magazines.  She has worked with slow fashion designers as pervivan fashion designer, Genaro Rivas.  Genaro created the brand GReen, which uses Peruvian organic cotton as raw material, and part of the earnings are intended to support the Yoga Peru Organization, which is responsible for teaching Yoga workshops in the prisons of the country.

Sara's charm and calm attitude makes any photo shooting a pleasure with exemplary work ethics.  She is always looking to give the best image according to what the project demands and wants to communicate.  She has collaborated with international magazines as the rumanian iMute Magazine.

She has also exhibited her work collectively and solo at Lima such as: Centro Cultural La Noche "Diario Personal" (2009); Centro Cultural La Noche "Late la Noche" (2009); Galería de Arte Anama "Fragmentos "; Centro Cultural La Noche "Late la Noche" (2010); Centro de la Imagen "Photosíntesis"; Galería Sala 58 "mujer" (2014); Bazarte de Fund.Euroid (2015). 
Sara has also become experienced in product and portraiture photography, which projects her versatile personality and availability for any project that can influence on people to make better choices.

Sara becomes one more of our slow fashion photographers committed to raise awareness about sustainability through images.  Sara is available for international assignments and collaborations.
